Janhvi Kapoor is the digital cover star of Harper’s Bazaar India, and she spoke openly about the scrutiny that comes with being a Bollywood actor. The talk comes at a time when she is facing backlash over Peddi. The film was criticised for how her character Achiyyamma was written and shot, and many viewers felt it objectified her.
Janhvi has said she should have been more vigilant, and director Buchi Babu Sana later apologised and said some scenes would be changed. She now chooses stories that mean something to her and follows her curiosity instead of convention. She wants roles that challenge her and is learning to trust her own instincts even when the result is uncertain.

In her words, she wants as many different and versatile experiences as possible, even contradictory ones. Janhvi also spoke about being Sridevi’s daughter, a legacy that is personal and cannot be separated from her career. She knows the privilege her surname brings and sees it as a reason to work harder, saying she needs to give every opportunity ten times more than an average person would.
For the cover titled In A Different Light, Janhvi wore a fitted white gown with a high neck, long sleeves and draped detailing at the hem. She added a turquoise dial watch and kept her long hair straight and open, with soft glossy lips. In the second look, she wore a sleeveless red dress with a structured bodice and a full skirt made of fringed yarn. She paired it with black pointed heels and a slim watch, and her hair was centre parted and left straight.
