Why Allu Arvind Delayed This Remake Big Time?

Back in 2021, when the Malayalam film Nayattu was released on Netflix, it created a storm across the nation for its content. Directed by Martin Prakkat of ABCD and Charlie movie fame, the film has Joju George, Kunchako Boban and Nimisha Sajayan playing the role of three police constables who abscond authorities after an incident only to meet much more disastrous fate. Here’s how mega producer Allu Arvind got connected to this movie.

Immediately after Nayattu craze gripped everywhere, Allu Arvind acquired the Telugu remake rights of the film, and within no time he launched the project with Rao Ramesh, Anjali and Priyadarshi as the leads, to be directed by Palasa fame Karuna Kumar. For unknown reasons, it got shelved after some days of shoot and later Arvind went ahead with the project with another set of actors.

In 2022 itself, Nayattu’s Telugu remake shoot commenced with Srikanth, Rahul Vijay and Shivani Rajasekhar as the leads, with Teja Marni of Johar movie fame handling the direction this time. Guess what, after a lot of dilly-dallying, finally on Monday morning, Geetha Arts is getting ready to announce this film. Leaks are coming out that Arvind didn’t like the final product and he made the team to do various reshoots and changes.

One wonders why the producer took huge time to bring out a remake movie, as in the end, they are most likely to come up with frame by frame replica of the Malayalam original.
