Bollywood Director Wants To Do Ilaiyaraaja Biopic With Dhanush

Bollywood filmmaker R. Balki, who previously collaborated with Dhanush in the film ‘Shamitabh,’ recently expressed his dream of making a biopic on the legendary composer Isaigniani Ilayaraja, with Dhanush playing the lead role. Balki worked with Ilaiyaraaja also in the past.

In a recent interview while promoting his new film ‘Ghoomer,’ Balki shared his aspiration, stating, “My dream is to make Ilaiyaraaja’s biopic with Dhanush. I see Raja sir in him because, in some way, Dhanush’s face resembles that of the master composer, lyricist, and singer, who has scored music for over 1,000 feature films in a career spanning five decades.”

For both Balki and Dhanush, it would be a dream come true to witness the latter portraying the legendary maestro on the silver screen. Balki expressed that if he ever gets the opportunity to make this film, it would be the most significant gift he could give to Dhanush, as they both share a deep admiration and respect for Ilayaraja.

Meanwhile, Dhanush’s much-awaited magnum opus ‘Captain Miller,’ directed by Arun Matheswaran and featuring Priyanka Mohan and Shivarajkumar, is scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on December 15th.
