‘Jailer’ – Rajinikanth to reclaim his box office mojo ?

Superstar Rajinikanth’s box office stamina was battered due to a string of debacles in the last decade. After Shankar’s Enthiran ( Robo), Rajinikanth failed to impress moviegoers in most of his outings barring Kabali, which is the only blip in the plummeting success graph. Kabali managed to collect solid revenues in Rajinikanth’s strong zones despite receiving mixed talk. After Kabali,  films like Kaala, Petta, and 2.0 failed to break even in most of the territories. Darbar and Annathane ended as huge loss ventures. 

When his market appeared to have reached an all-time low, the Chandramukhi actor is now coming with Jailer, a Nelson Dilip Kumar directional. Jailer initially didn’t gather much hype as the poster and teasers failed to excite even his fans. But, the adrenaline-pumping trailer presenting him in his vintage style with a never-before-seen swag turned the tables all of a sudden and the expectations on the film reached a new high. 

Going by the advance sales, Jailer is set to take a thunderous opening at the box office in all territories. In North America, the film is likely to embark on a stupendous start with more than $ 1 million gross from its premieres. There are good chances that it will exceed trade expectations with its first-day numbers at the domestic market. In Tamil Nadu, the film is likely to rock the box office with a phenomenal opening because audiences are expecting a minimum guarantee film from Nelson Dilipkumar. 

If the action entertainer manages to secure above-average talk, it is likely to create a storm with its first weekend numbers followed by the Independence Day holiday. After a dull phase for nearly 6 years, Rajinikanth is likely to reclaim his box office mojo with Jailer.
