The re-release trend of Telugu movies is currently gaining momentum in Tollywood. This strategy aims to bring these films back before the audience in a new avatar. Films such as Pokiri, Businessman, Okkadu, Simhadri, Khushi, Jalsa, Orange, Desamuduru, and Billa have repeatedly captivated audiences through re-releases. Even movies like Yogi, starring Prabhas and Raghuvaran B.Tech, have returned to theaters this week.
Fans are known for their intense enthusiasm during these re-releases. They often bring sacks of papers to throw in the air for their celebration. Climbing on chairs and dancing to the songs is a common sight. Some fans have even been reported to ignite firecrackers within the theater, leading to disorderly conduct.
In a recent incident, Prabhas fans caused chaos during the re-release of the movie Yogi. They resorted to damaging the screen at Sudarshan theatre in Hyderabad with a blade after the movie abruptly stopped during the screening. Some fans have engaged in destructive behavior, such as breaking glasses, throwing bottles, and causing damage to theater infrastructure.
The theater management approached the police officials, and they registered a complaint on some fans, and the investigation is underway.
