BO: Kushi Is Strong In Nizam

Vijay Devarakonda and Samantha’s latest movie “Kushi” hit cinemas the other day and trade pundits have earlier expected that the Shiva Nirvana will take the tinsel town by storm. However, positive reviews from critics and pre-promotions for the film worked well and has given highest grossers among the Tier-2 heroes of Tollywood.

According to trade sources, Kushi has grossed nearly ₹30 crores ‘gross’ from the worldwide box office on its Day 1 at the box office. The film is quite strong in the Nizam area where it collected ₹8+ crores gross, showcasing the potential of Vijay D in the region. In the USA, the film got a fantastic opening with $470K Premiers and $350K Day One. But then, the numbers coming from the Andhra region are quite ordinary as the movie didn’t get any solid opening there. In Ceded the film grossed only ₹1.3+ crores gross only.

While the content is what does wonders at the box office after the first weekend, some more strong promotions would have fetched big numbers easily. However, we have to see how the film fares on Saturday and Sunday, with the talk around.
