‘800’, the biopic of iconic Sri Lankan cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan, is up for a grand theatrical release in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, and English in the month of October. Its trailer will be released at a star-studded event in Mumbai on September 5.
Greatest Indian cricketer and Muralitharan’s contemporary Sachin Tendulkar will be the chief guest for the big-ticket event to be attended by cricketers and movie stars.
Senior Tollywood producer Sivalenka Krishna Prasad of Sridevi Movies is all set to kick off the promotions in style. He is pleased that Sachin will be there for the event. Krishna Prasad, known for ‘Aditya 369’ and other hits, owns the release rights of the movie not only in Telugu but also in other languages.
Directed by MS Sripathy, ‘800’ has music by Ghibran. Madhur Mittal is playing Muralitharan, fondly called Murali by his contemporaries. Mahima Nambiar will be seen as his onscreen wife. Naren, Nassar, Vela Ramamoorthy, Riythvika, Vadivukkarasi, Arul Das, and others have also acted in the movie.
‘800’ targets the millions of fans of cricket as well as drama lovers. The former cricketer is the only bowler to take 800 Test wickets and more than 530 ODI wickets in his career spanning several years.
