This weekend is shaping up to be uneventful at the box office, except for a dubbed version of a Kannada film. Most major releases have been postponed to the final week of September, leaving a void regarding new releases and buzz at the ticket counters.
“Sapta Sagaralu Dhaati,” a love story featuring Kannada stars Rakshit Shetty and Rukhmini Vasanth, is the only hope for this weekend. Directed by Hemanth M Rao and presented by People Media Factory, the Kannada film’s version received rave reviews and enjoyed significant success. The question is whether Telugu audiences will embrace this film with the same enthusiasm.
Apart from this film, there are no notable releases this weekend, and it will also give scope to films like “Miss Shetty Mr Polishetty” and “Jawan” to perform more at the box office. However, the films’ performances reached the tail end of their theatrical runs in Telugu.
As the industry anticipates the big releases scheduled for the end of September, this weekend may remain relatively quiet at the ticket windows.
