Prabhas Statue: Baahubali Producer Warns, Museum Responds

Other day the pictures of Prabhas’ wax statue from a museum in Mysore went viral on the internet as the fans and netizens that it is a cheap imitation of the Superstar in the first place. With the statue’s features not anywhere close to Prabhas except the Baahubali costume, even producer Shobhu Yarlagadda responded to the move.

“This is not an officially licensed work and was done without our permission or knowledge. We will be taking immediate steps to get this removed (sic)”, Shobhu wrote, on his ‘X’ page. This triggered a news outbreak as the legal warning of the Baahubali producer has gone into the news big time. As the producer himself objected to that, the Museum Owner responded to a leading news daily adding that they didn’t want to hurt anyone’s sentiment, so they would be removing the statue.

However, those comments are also not going well with the fans as it is not about hurting sentiment in the first place but getting the features of Prabhas right. Secondly, they should get permission from Shobhu’s production house to produce a statue of Baahubali because the creative and intelligent property rights of the character vest with the production house. It’s about legalities and perfection, but not sentiments.
