Recently, Sony LIV announced that Akhil Akkineni’s “Agent” would start streaming on the platform on the 29th of the month. However, this plan has hit another roadblock, as the court has issued an order preventing the film from being streamed on the OTT platform.
The film has encountered a series of unfortunate events right from its inception. The project faced numerous challenges during its production, including disruptions due to the pandemic and an accident involving director Surender Reddy. Additionally, the film’s theatrical release was postponed multiple times before finally hitting theaters in April of this year.
Now, the film’s Vizag Distributor Battula Satyanarayana, who had purchased the rights for “Agent” in the Telugu states, has filed a legal case against producer Anil Sunkara. The distributor alleged that the film was not made available in all areas as agreed upon and that his request for a refund had not been honored. The court had ordered a stay on the film’s OTT release.
“Agent,” is billed to be a spy action thriller directed by Surender Reddy featuring Mammotty and Sakshi Vaidhya.
