Ugramm trending, again rumours on Salaar

With the announcement of the new release date by the makers, the buzz and anticipation started to build again on Prabhas’ much-anticipated action saga ‘Salaar’. Meanwhile, another intriguing piece of information started trending on social media this weekend and this has given way to more speculations on this Prashanth Neel directional.

Reports suggest that Neel’s 2014 action thriller Ugramm has been suddenly removed from YouTube. This has become a trending topic among everyone because there have been rumours since the beginning of Salaar that Neel is remaking his own film by making some changes to the script with Prabhas in the lead role.

Though Neel categorically stated Salaar is a fresh story during his media interactions at the time of KGF 2 release, the close resemblances in the first look posters and the backdrop of the story kept these rumours afloat all these days. Now, they gained more substance as Ugramm was removed from YouTube immediately a day after the release of Salaar was officially announced by Hombale Films.

For the unversed, Ugramm is about a guy who is torn between the promises made to his mother to lead a life free of violence and his friend who asks him to confront the crime syndicate and end their atrocities. Salaar is also rumoured to have a similar storyline with solid changes to the key characters.

As Ugramm is trending all over social media, rumours are now back on Salaar. Many have started to declare that Neel is presenting the enhanced version of Ugramm with Prabhas in a larger-than-life role. It is also pertinent to note that there were plans to bring a sequel to Ugramm with the title Veeram a few years ago. However, it didn’t materialize beyond the discussion stages.

Salaar is slated for release on December 22nd. We have to wait till the release of the theatrical trailer to come to a conclusion regarding the ongoing rumours. It is expected to be out on October 23rd as a birthday treat to Prabhas fans. The suspense will continue till then.
