Sankranthi BO: Decoding the probability of theatre availability

The Sankranti season is turning into a battleground for releasing multiple films, one after another, with no end to this influx. Half a dozen films have already locked in their release dates for Sankranthi. However, the question that looms large is whether these films have ample room. But, one film that is facing the threat is ‘HanuMan.’

‘Guntur Karam,’ ‘Eagle,’ ‘Saindhav,’ ‘Naa Samiranga,’ and ‘Hanuman’ all confirmed their participation in the Sankranti race. ‘Family Star’ is another newcomer to the lineup.

Among these contenders, ‘Guntur Karam’ is arguably the most suitable for a Sankranti release. ‘Saindhav’ and ‘Family Star’ share the same advantage, supported by industry heavyweights Suresh Babu and Dil Raju. Theater availability doesn’t seem to be a concern.

However, ‘Eagle’ has been surrounded by uncertainty lately, leaving the possibility of its Sankranti release in doubt. If ‘Eagle’ joins the race, it will likely close the doors for any additional entrants. ‘Na Samiranga’ depends on the progress of its shooting. However, Nagarjuna wants to cash the sentiment of his earlier releases hitting the screens for Sankranthi.

As for ‘Hanuman,’ its chances of obtaining theaters amidst the fierce competition are slim. While the film’s completion may not be a concern, getting a spot amidst the intense rivalry could be an even greater challenge, making it a viable option to consider a date change.
