Recently the upcoming film of mega hero Sai Dharam Tej was announced and it is titled “Ganja Shankar”. To be directed by Sampath Nandi of Rachha fame, the film is going to be a typical commercial potboiler from the director. However, it is the title of the movie that is raising some concerns now.
Recently a police officer from Hyderabad commented that filmmakers should be more responsible towards society and quoted scenes from Baby movie where direct rolling and snorting of drugs is shown, saying that movie-makers should not do such stuff as that encourages people towards such things. Now that Sampath Nandi named the film “Ganja Shankar”, surely that gives a feeling that they are talking about a drug peddler. Or maybe if he is not that, the name suggests only so. How is Sampath Nandi going to defend this title has become the topic of town now.
On the other hand, even though police are advising caution and concern to be followed by filmmakers, other day’s film Leo also revolves around a drug cartel business though they haven’t shown the usage of it.
