National award winning actress Kangana Ranaut is one of the successful actresses in the Indian movie industry. The actress is currently experiencing difficulties, especially with her upcoming movie, ‘Tejas’ now. The movie was released in theatres today and it’s struggling at the box office.
The situation of the movie is quite disheartening as the advance bookings in multiplexes indicate that only four thousand tickets went unsold across the country. Considering the craze and stardom Kangana enjoys in the country, the reported numbers are very less.
The irony is the fact that “Tejas” is underperforming even in comparison to “Ganapath,” which was considered one of this year’s biggest disappointments. Reports suggest that Tiger Shroff’s film earned around two and a half crores on its first day, while Kangana’s “Tejas” managed to gather just one and a half crores.
This downturn in Kangana’s career is evident from her recent movies, “Panga,” “Judgementall Hai Kya,” and “Rangoon” – all of them faced lackluster performances. The only exception seems to be “Manikarnika,” which enjoyed decent success. However, her South films “Thalaivi,” and “Chandramukhi 2” also failed to perform well at the box office.
The critics believe that Kangana’s career is at a critical juncture, and retaining her market value is becoming more challenging. For Kangana, receiving positive reviews for “Tejas” could provide some relief, but its too early to comment on the same.
