Opposing the bail petition of Rhea Chakraborty and her brother Showik Chakraborty, the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) in its fresh affidavit to the High Court on Monday stated that there was “enough evidence” against Rhea in the drug case. The NCB in its affidavits alleged that Rhea had regularly “dealt” with drugs and also “financed” drug trafficking.
NCB Zonal Director Sameer Wankhede in the affidavit stated that electronic evidence such as WhatsApp chats, records were retrieved from mobile, laptop and hard-disk. The national agency further stated that Rhea was “aware” that Sushant “consumed drugs”, yet she “harboured” and “concealed” him. NCB added that the applicant (Rhea Chakraborty) used to “facilitate drug deliveries and payment through credit cards/cash/payment gateways for the contraband.”
Meanwhile, the High Court is scheduled to hear the bail pleas of Rhea and Showik today. In this background, the NCB’s strong affidavits indicate that Rhea and Showik are unlikely to get bail. One needs to wait and watch for the court’s verdict.
