On the eve of Diwali, initially couple of Telugu films like Aadikeshava were supposed to hit cinemas, but surprisingly most of them backed out from the release day. That left the whole of this Friday (Nov 10) to Tamil films like Karthi’s Japan and Lawrence’s Jigarthanda Double X.
While Amavasya sentiment stopped Tollywood from releasing movies, the Tamil industry cashed on this vacuum now. And here’s what to happen next.
Apparently, Christmas is also a big festival in parts of Tamilnadu, but then, the industry hasn’t readied any big films for that time. Also with Prabhas’ Salaar set for December 22nd release, the simple competition for the film also moved out.
Now, that led to Red Giant Movies buying the total distribution of Salaar in Tamilnadu, which is going to be a huge plus for the film. In fact, we should look it at as a favour being done by Tamil folks for leaving the Diwali season to them.
Meanwhile, for the Sankranthi season as well, the Tamil industry is not having big releases apart from Lal Salaam which has Superstar Rajnikanth doing a cameo. However, Telugu film industry is heaping loads of films for Sankranthi, that too big and happening movies.
