When the film “Lucifer” was released, both, the star hero Mohan Lal and the film’s director, another star hero, Prithviraj Sukumaran, stunned the audience with the kind of content they delivered. At the end of the film, they show that Mohan Lal’s character was a big don abroad when he was called by his father to help his step-sister form a government in the state. That itself is an indication that they might come up with a sequel. And here’s the catch.
Though Lucifer worked out big in Malayam, the film didn’t do great at the Telugu box office when Megastar Chiranjeevi remade it as “Godfather”. However, the film stayed true to the original except for a few changes, but the box office result wasn’t that great. Now that Lucifer makers announced Empuraan, a franchisee film of the Lucifer series that deals with the don-life of Mohan Lal’s character, under Prithviraj’s direction, many are wondering if Chiranjeevi will remake this one as well in Telugu now.
Reports are indicating that this time, the makers of Lucifer are not in the mood to sell the remake rights, but they will be releasing the whole film as a Pan-India movie in all the languages across the country. In that case, Chiranjeevi might not get a chance to remake the film. However, if they don’t go for such a release, then the Megastar might consider doing it too. Let’s see what happens.
