Usually during the times of general elections, many star heroes and other celebs used to take sides, join a political outfit, and even support the cause of some candidates who are in the electron race. However, this time, Tollywood celebs are taking up a different route, and many are wondering what is exactly happening with Telugu industry folks.
Except for some senior stalwarts like Ashwini Dutt and KS Ramarao, who have been patrons of the Telugu Desam Party for a long time, none of the new stars are actually talking about anything related to politics. Even the stars hailing from the Telangana region are not coming out in support of Telangana-based parties or the national parties. At the same time, they are not putting up any social media posts, taking part in any canvassing or doing anything related to the election campaign. One wonders why Tollywood activated the ‘silent mode’ button during this general election.
Some say that these are the days when politics are turning out to be revengeful. If a star supports a particular political outfit now, and tomorrow if that party doesn’t win, then the one in power might harass the star and his films. Keeping in view of what happened earlier, we hear that Tolly celebs are not taking part in Telangana elections.
