History Created in ‘NTR commemorative Coin’ sales

On the centenary of the late Chief Minister Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao (NTR), the Central Government celebrated the occasion by releasing a special 100-rupee commemorative coin in his honor. The Hyderabad mint witnessed an extraordinary response to this tribute, setting a new record in commemorative coin sales in the country.

Within a mere two and a half months of its launch, the NTR commemorative coin saw an impressive sale of 25 thousand units. This has been lauded as a landmark moment in the history of commemorative coin sales in India.

VNR Naidu emphasized the significance of this accomplishment, highlighting that the sales of the NTR commemorative coin have surpassed previous records, doubling the prior benchmark of 12,000 units.

Among the 200 commemorative coins released nationwide, the NTR commemorative coin stands out with the highest sales figures, solidifying NTR’s enduring popularity and legacy.
