One thing that ensues Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s films is controversies. Besides making a lot of noise at the box office, his films often rake up controversies due to the presence of excessive masculine toxicity.
Like Arjun Reddy and Kabir Singh, his latest offering Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role, stirred up many critical remarks from movie critics and audiences. A section of people slammed his brazen approach in designing the characterisations of his heroes who display an overdose of boldness on screen.
It is well known that Animal received below-par reviews from critics all over the country for various reasons. Some have slammed Sandeep Reddy for promoting misogyny through his films and some have lashed out at his excessive violence.
Despite all the negativity, Animal emerged as a box-office blockbuster. So, Sandeep Reddy wasted no time in hitting back at his naysayers. He came up with scathing remarks during media interactions against those reviewers who mocked his filmmaking style and approach.
As Animal continues its dream run at the box office, Sandeep Reddy once again came down heavily at the critics. He said he couldn’t imagine how these critics would react after seeing his next two films, Spirit and Animal Park (sequel to Animal), as they will be bigger and bolder than Animal in terms of violence and other aspects.
It seems like Sandeep Reddy wants to make it clear that he will not get bogged down by the backlash he received for his approach in all three films so far.
As announced earlier, he will start working on Spirit, which features Prabhas in the lead role. It is going to be a cop drama. After Spirit, he will direct Animal Park with Ranbir Kapoor. He has also lined up a film with Allu Arjun after these two films.
