Ever since Salaar moved from September to December 2023, and locked 22nd as their release date, many films have altered their release dates. Except for Shahrukh Khan’s Dunki, no other film has stayed in the race and moved out. In fact, Venkatesh’s Saindhav was supposed to release on Dec 22nd, and director Sailesh Kolanu says, losing that date is a thing of pride.
“Salaar” is a big film, a terrific one indeed, and surely we have to give the film all the space and theatres it needs. In fact, I’m super happy to miss out on the December 22nd date for the sake of Salaar. We are proud to move away. And with Salaar locking 22nd, we’ve actually thought of coming on Sankranthi date, which is the much bigger date for Saindhav, for sure” said Sailesh Kolanu, in his exclusive interaction with Gulte.com earlier today.
Well, many filmmakers who have their films lined up for Sankranthi and January 2024 release, are now taking a break from work and heading to watch Salaar in theatres tomorrow. That’s the kind of star power Prabhas’ enjoys and director Prashant Neel turned out to be his best ammunition.
