Dhanush is currently working on the PAN Indian action drama “Captain Miller,” directed by Arun Matheswaran. Initially slated for release this month, the film’s release was postponed to Pongal 2024 for undisclosed reasons. The team officially confirmed the film’s release date as January 12, 2024.
With this announcement, it is now evident that the film will also join the Sankranthi race in Telugu. We already have four films fighting out for Pongal and the Tamil dubbed version will also test the luck at the ticket windows.
What adds an interesting twist to this release is that Mahesh Babu’s “Guntur Kaaram” and Prashanth Varma’s “HanuMan” are also scheduled for release on the same date. There are opinions that HanuMan should either prepone or postpone the film’s release by a day.
On the other hand, Dhanush, with his solid fanbase, has a significant following in Telugu-speaking regions as well. The clash at the box office raises questions about whether “Captain Miller” can draw audiences.
We have to see if there will be any last-minute changes in the lineup!
