Other day, the Telugu Film Chamber Of Commerce, Telangana Chamber of Commerce and Producers Council have together announced that the pressure on the Sankranthi releases has come down, thanks to the exit of ‘Eagle’ from the race. While they have showered praises on People Media Factory’s Viswa Prasad and Vivek, and hero Raviteja, for exiting Eagle, one wonders if this exit really solved the crisis looming there.
Apparently, the presence of three films in the Sankranthi race creates more issues when it comes to screen sharing, and now that we have five, naturally, the one that has no powerful backing will face the issues. While Dil Raju shared an opinion that each film should release on each day, such that everyone will get breathing space, right now we have Guntur Kaaram, HanuMan on Jan 12th, Saindhav on 13th and Naa Saami Ranga on 14th after Eagle’s exit. As Hanu Man cannot move to another date due to the North India release, advancing Guntur Kaaram by a day will help everyone. However, even after Eagle’s exit, the clash on Jan 12th will prove costly for Hanu Man in the first place.
And then, all the theatres that are exited by Eagle, are now likely to be taken by Nagarjuna’s Naa Saami Ranga in most centres, while Guntur Kaaram makers are also grabbing those screens. Even after Eagle’s exit, the scenario is most unlikely that Hanu Man is getting more theatres. With both Guntur Kaaram and Saindhav distributed by Dil Raju in Nizam, those two films won’t face major screen count issues. With others supporting Naa Saami Ranga, and few exhibitors opting for Hanu Man, the scenario looks hopeful, say insiders.
