Devara & Thandel: Similar Plots In Different Timeline?

Once the first look of a few films comes out, and going by the information passed by the makers about the content of the movie, sometimes it appears like a couple of films that are happening around time actually deal with the same concept. Right now, it appears like these two upcoming films are actually dealing with a similar concept.

Jr NTR’s Devara and Naga Chaitanya’s Thandel, are two upcoming films that deal with the life of a fisherman, and what happens in a fishing village. In both movies, the heroes travel by sea, on their ships and indulge in some save-the-world stuff. While the storyline also appears to be the same, with the hero dedicating his life to save his crew and village, it looks like both Devara and Thandel will have a lot of resemblances.

However, the major difference seems to be the timeline of the stories inside these movies, as Devara appears to be very vintage, while Thandel is a bit modern compared to the Jr NTR’s film. However, sources in both movies are saying that neither the storylines nor the timelines match, but only the backdrop is the same, which makes everyone think that both the heroes might be doing similar films.

While Thandel is directed by Chandoo Mondeti, Devara is being carved by senior star director Koratala Siva.
