Relief and controversy intertwined on the sets of “Pushpa: The Rule” as actor Jagadeesh Prathap Bandari returned to filming. Granted bail recently, after his December 2023 arrest for alleged abetment of suicide, he resumes his key role as Kesava, Pushpa’s right-hand man.
His return marks a turning point for the production, which faced delays due to his absence. But it also reignites discussions surrounding the ethics of an actor’s involvement in a film while facing serious legal charges. While the bail allows Bandari to work, it doesn’t erase the accusations. Currently, the actor is taking part in the Gangamma Jaathara sequence that is being shot in Hyderabad, while the shooting will also move to other locations soon.
Reports are coming that the production house of Pushpa 2 provided legal support for Jagadeesh and helped him come out of jail owing to the fact that a huge part of the film should be shot with him present alongside the leading man, Allu Arjun. For now, it looks like the shooting will go smoothly with the young actor’s presence unless other parties fight in Court against his bail.
