Why Is ‘Gangs Of Godavari’ Getting Delayed?

Back in December 2023, sensational star Vishwak Sen announced that he would not be promoting the film if it missed the December release date. However, now in February 2024, the film’s shooting is still going on. While the makers have unofficially locked March 8th as the release date, now the hero himself announced that he will be coming up with “Gaami” on that date. So what is actually happening?

Like we have revealed earlier, Vishwak Sen the other day confirmed that “Gangs of Godavari” still has a shoot to complete. They have shot the item song for a day with Eesha Rebba, cancelled the shoot later, and then roped in Ayesha Khan to complete the shoot. Then they have a fight sequence and another song featuring Vishwak Sen and Neha Shetty to wrap. However, Vishwak says that a death in the family of a technical team is leading to delay, and he doesn’t want to take the pressure of pushing the film forcibly for release.

That could be related to legendary composer Ilayaraja’s daughter’s death, as his son Yuvan Shankar Raja is scoring for Gangs of Godavari, and the latter asked for more time to recover from his sister’s death and wrap the background score work. With DJ Tillu Square and Family Star filling ‘Devara’ absence, now Gangs of Godavari has to choose a date before Kalki 2898 AD or after that.
