Bala’s ‘Varmaa’ Gets Poor Reviews And Trolled

Published by

As we know the Tamil version of ‘Arjun Reddy’ was shot twice and the second version made it to the box office. The first version titled ‘Varmaa’ was directed by acclaimed director Bala. After watching a few episodes, Chiyaan Vikram who was introducing his son Dhruv with this film, was said to be unhappy and scrapped off the project.

In a first of its kind, this scrapped version of ‘Varmaa’ got released on OTT platform and is streaming from Monday mid-night on Simply South app. The film got poor reviews while netizens are savagely trolling it with hilarious memes. Since the hashtag #Varmaa is trending on social media, even though Dhruv’s performance was well received.

Some netizens opined that Chiyaan Vikram took a perfect decision by cancelling the project and critics said that it was surprising to see such a low quality film from an award winning director like Bala but then it appears the director might have been forced to do the remake to launch a hero’s son.

The second version ‘Adithya Varma’ released in November, 2019 and scored a hit but not a blockbuster.
