Geethanjali Came Back – Will Kona’s Glory Too?

Back in the day, the very mention of the name Kona Venkat used to trigger ‘blockbuster’ things like Dookudu as the writer is associated with various super hits of Sreenu Vaitla. After breaking up, neither that director nor this writer did magic at the box office, though some of Kona’s production ventures turned out to be interesting projects. Here comes ‘Geethanjali Malli Vachindi’ now. 

Touted to be the sequel of the previous horror comedy ‘Geethanjali’, Kona Venkat has now written a story and produced this comic caper ‘Geethanjali Malli Vachindi’, whose trailer got released the other day. The trailer looks pretty funny with loads of punches, but what needs to be seen is, if this ‘Raju Gari Gadhi’ kind of Ohmkar comedy will work at the box office even now. These days, many such films turn out to be damp squibs while serious horror films like Virupaksha and Masoodha did quite well. On that note, will Kona’s fresh writing work in his favour and bring back that old glory? 

On the other hand, Kona has provided only the story this time, while the writers of superhit Samajavaragamana, Bhanu and Nandu penned the dialogues for the movie. Geethanjali Malli Vachindi, features Anjali and Srinivas Reddy in the lead roles, and is hitting cinemas on March 22nd.
