Director Sampath Nandi has earlier carved out “Odhela Railway Station” under his guidance, directed by his associate Ashok Teja. However, there were discussions with the likes of producer Naga Vamsi regarding the sequel, with Tamannaah Bhatia as the leading lady, but owing to budget issues, the film didn’t take off a couple of months ago. Here goes the twist now.
Without the old production house or the new production house, now Sampath Nandi has decided to bankroll the project himself. And to avoid a clash with previous producers, or other creative issues, rather naming the film as Odhela Railway Station 2, the direction came up with the name ‘Odhela 2’ and announced it today.
The presence of some established production houses would have given bigger life to the film, but it looks like the unresolved creative issues have forced Sampath Nandi to take up the production himself.
At the same time, Sampath’s directorial venture with Sai Dharam Tej, Ganja Shankar, is facing multiple issues including budget shockers and also a warning from Telangana Narcotics Bureau regarding the usage of the name of “Ganja” in the title, and how the filmmakers are unwantedly promoting the narcotic substance. We have to see if this film will face the light or not, as of now, its fate hangs in the balance.
