February turned out to be a disastrous month for the Telugu film industry. Thus, there were many expectations around the movies releasing in March. However, the first Friday of March also resulted in disappointing results in Tollywood.
On March 1st, Varun Tej came up with Operation Valentine. There was good anticipation around the film but it ended up as a disaster. The same is the case with Vennela Kishore’s Chari 111. Ram Gopal Varma’s Vyooham also faced the same fate.
Bhaskar Narayana got a good talk but the response couldn’t translate into numbers. As a result, all the films released in the last two weeks ended up as disasters. As a result, the three-week-old film, Ooru Peru Bhairavakonda, became the only good option for movie lovers.
Eventually, the film managed to break-even with a below-average talk. Now, all eyes are on this Friday’s releases, Gaami, Premalu and Bheema. All three movies have good pre-release buzz and the trailers also got a good response. We have to see if they end the hit drought of Tollywood.
