Malayalam cinema dominated the box office just three months into this year while other film industries are yet to deliver a proper blockbuster. Three movies from the Malayalam film industry made their mark and they are minting money at the ticket counters.

Starting with Premalu followed by Brahmayugam and now Manjummel Boys, all three films emerged super successful. The seat-edge survival thriller Manjummel Boys went on to become the first Malayalam movie to join the million-dollar club in the US.

The Kodaikanal connection and Guna song factor along with the emotional highs in the latter half of the film garnered attention from audiences across all languages. Manummel Boys becomes the fastest 100 crore worldwide gross in the history of Mollywood.

Manjummel Boys is showing its domination at the box office by beating the collections of other Malayalam movies and setting a new all-time number one. Manjummel Boys becomes the number one Malayalam movie by beating Pulimurugan in the rest of India, beating Kurup in Tamil Nadu, taking over 2018 in Australia and New Zealand, and finally becoming number one in North America by overtaking Lucifer.
