Fan Wars, this is a common word any average social media user never misses to hear in their day to day usage. Fans of actors irrespective of their popularity are often involved in virtual wars. These go off the track sometimes leading to verbal wars off the screens like the one which got highlighted a few years back which led to the death of one such fan during a gang war in tirupati.
A similar incident got highlighted a few days back on X ( formerly Twitter) . A virtual fight between a group of Allu Arjun and Prabhas fans went overboard. The thigh slaps completely went wrong where a Prabhas Fan got cornered by the Bunny Fans’ group. The video of this physical assault went viral on X and gained a lot of attention including the Bengaluru Police. This matter got deviated in many ways where the PRs’ of the respective actors were also brought into the mess by these fan groups.
Fights have always been the part of fandom culture. But we never have had any history of actors supporting this any form. We had instances of ruined careers and lives of such unhealthy fans in the past. Fans should behave responsibly and have boundaries while showing their fanism. No hero or star would come forward and save their fan(s), when involved in such acts. If you are also one such fan reading this, think twice before showing your fanism!!
