No Questions For Heroines, Chandini Expresses Anguish

Though there were well-written female characters in our Indian films for many decades, the fact remains inarguable that it is a male-dominated industry.

Many a time, the female actors vent out their displeasure for getting the glam doll roles but not the challenging characters. In yet another genuine complaint, a heroine expressed her anguish against the media for not having any questions for her.

Gaami emerged as a good film with a new and intriguing concept. The team arranged a success meet where the media posed questions to Vishwak Sen and the director but had no questions for the actress of the movie Chandini Chowdary.

Chandini Chowdary did not take much time to hit back at the common practice of not asking the heroine anything other than ‘how she is feeling upon bagging a success’ and ‘how was it acting with the hero’. She answered those questions sarcastically even before someone asked. She directly said that there would be no questions for heroines anyway and she has been observing it for a long time.

Well, Hollywood heroines like Scarlett Johanson too faced sexist questions about her diet during the Avengers press meet when actors like Robert Downey Jr get to answer about the script et al. It has to be seen the media will have some sensible questions for the female actors next time at least from the character-oriented films like Gaami.
