Kalki 2898 AD: Should They Postpone Or Not?

With the election schedule announced and May 13th locked as the poll date, surely the makers of Superstar Prabhas’ “Kalki 2898 AD” for a big discussion regarding the release date as they have locked May 9th. According to reports coming from inside sources, two types of discussions are said to have taken place.

Some of the stakeholders in the movie are said to have stated that the election date will not be affected big time as only May 13th is a holiday in the Telugu states. Even some noted distributors felt that Kalki would give big relief to the Telugu audience from the political promotions and press meets, and the film should go ahead with the summer advantage. However, the marketing teams behind the movie are said to have opposed this.

According to the marketing teams, Kalki 2898 AD might not get traction because of the mood of the public, as most of them will be looking at election campaigns, consuming a lot of political content and indulging in poll-related discussions most of the time. Though that situation might not be prevalent in other parts of India, here in Telugu states, they feel that the public might not get the pulse of the movie due to polls. They are said to have suggested the makers to postpone the movie.

Directed by Nag Ashwin of Mahanati fame, Kalki 2898 AD has Prabhas, Amitabh Bachhan, Kamal Haasan, Deepika Padukone and Disha Patani doing the leading roles.
