Chiru Is Mahanati Savitri’s ‘Pedda Koduku’

Along with his wife Surekha, other day Megastar Chiranjeevi launched the book ‘Savitri Classics’ amidst fanfare and the presence of Mahanati Savitri’s daughter Vijaya Chamundeswari and other celebrities including Brahmanandam and Jayasudha to name a few. During this interaction, Savitri’s daughter made some interesting comments and revelations.

“Everyday upon waking up, Megastar Chiranjeevi garu has this habit of looking at my mother Savitri’s picture in his bedroom. After he revealed that to me, he thought that I might not believe it, and then he brought me that picture as well to show it. He’s not just a man of words, but good deeds and vices as well. I could proudly say that he is my mother’s ‘Pedda Koduku’ (elder son) and today he has taken up that duty by taking this book into the world in a big way”, said Chamundeswari.

At the same event, Megastar recollected how he met the legendary Savitri during his debut film “Punadi Raallu” itself in which she played a key role. Also, Megastar’s wife Surekha happens to be close friends with Chamundeswari, after they have grown up in the same locality in the then Madras. At the event, Surekha posed some interesting questions to Chamundeswari, thus for the first time playing the role of an interviewer.
