Day 1: Family Star Is Not As Bad As Liger

With mixed talk surrounding it, “Family Star” seems to have fared better than “Liger.” Despite aggressive promotion since the trailer release, the film faced underwhelming advance bookings and negative reception from US premiere shows onwards.

However, unlike “Liger,” which experienced a significant drop in occupancy after initial talk, “Family Star” managed to sustain impressive evening and night showings after a lukewarm morning response.

Various factors, such as the absence of major competing releases, Vijay Deverakonda’s popularity, trust in Dil Raju’s content, or summer holidays, may have contributed to this stability.

The lack of decline in night shows has revitalized hope for the makers. To maintain momentum, Vijay Deverakonda, Mrunal Thakur, and Dil Raju plan surprise visits starting tomorrow in USA.

Despite modest day one collections, the consistent occupancy brings relief to the makers. Directed by Parasuram, “Family Star” depicts a middle-class man’s romance with a wealthy girl.
