18 years of Pokiri-Crazy unknown facts here

Pokiri is one of the biggest hits in Telugu film industry. The film gave Mahesh Babu a new lease of life in his career and Pokiri has completed 18 years and is still one of the most celebrated films of Mahesh Babu. Not many know that Ravi Teja was the first choice to play the lead role. But as he was busy with the film Naa Autograph, he did not do the film, and Mahesh Babu was brought in.

Initially, Pokiri was supposed to be titled Uttam Singh S/O Suryanarayana, but after Mahesh Babu came onto board, the title was changed. Imagine Nasser mouthing his famous dialogue in the climax with Uttam Singh S/O Suryanarayana; it would be quite weird.

Deepika Padukone was supposed to play the female lead, but she could not do the project, and Ileana was brought in. Mani Sharma scored the music for this film, which created new records in the industry.

Mahesh Babu played the role of Pandu, which was derived from Puri Jagan’s wife. He used to call her Pandu. All these aspects made Pokiri quite special. The film was remade in Hindi as Wanted and in Tamil as Pokkiri. Salman Khan and Vijay played the roles which were massive hits at the box office.
