#50thAnniversary: Epic Telugu FIlm “Alluri Seetharama Raju”

This year marks 50 years since the release of Superstar Krishna’s “Alluri Seetharama Raju,” a movie that’s become a legend in Telugu cinema. It tells the story of Alluri Sitaramaraju, a brave freedom fighter who fought against British rule in India.

The movie came out on May 1st, 1974. It was directed by V. Ramachandra Rao and written by Tripuraneni Maharadhi. It’s a big historical movie with lots of action and a story that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Making the movie wasn’t easy. Filming took place in Chintapalli, where the weather was harsh. Sadly, the original director passed away during filming, but superstar Krishna stepped in to finish the job. This showed how dedicated everyone was to making this movie great.

Actually, Krishna also produced the movie. He wasn’t just interested in making money, he wanted to create something special. There were others, like NTR, who originally wanted to make this movie but couldn’t. Despite some discouragement, Krishna wouldn’t give up on his dream.

Krishna played the role of Alluri Sitarama Raju himself. People loved his performance! Critics said it was one of his best, capturing the true spirit of this freedom fighter. The movie also had amazing songs that people still love today.

“Alluri Seetharama Raju” is more than just entertainment. It’s an important part of Telugu cinema history. It tells the story of India’s fight for freedom and reminds us to fight for what’s right. The movie was a huge hit, running for over 100 days in 19 theaters and a whole year in Hyderabad!

This movie is still considered a masterpiece today. The story it tells is even said to have inspired the recent hit movie “RRR” by SS Rajamouli, where Ram Charan played Ramaraju, the inspired character.
