‘AA’L Time Record For ‘Pushpa 2’ North American Deal

The much-anticipated Pan-Indian Telugu film, Icon Star Allu Arjun’s “Pushpa: The Rule,” the sequel to the blockbuster “Pushpa: The Rise,” has secured a record-breaking North American theatrical distribution deal.

According to the news, the rights have been acquired by Prathyangira Cinemas and AA Creations for a whopping ₹60 Crores (approximately $7.4 million USD) on an advance basis. This is reportedly the highest price ever paid for the North American rights of an Indian film.

“Pushpa: The Rise,” which was released in December 2021, was a commercial success in India and other parts of the world. The film starred Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna and was directed by Sukumar. The sequel is getting ready to be released on August 15, 2024. And this evening (May 1st), the first single ‘Pushpa Pushpa Pushpa’ is releasing with many vouching for Devi Sri Prasad’s magical tunes.

The record-breaking US theatrical rights deal for “Pushpa: The Rule” is a sign of the growing popularity of Indian cinema, especially big-ticket Telugu films in North America. Telugu films are increasingly finding a wider audience among international viewers, and this trend is likely to continue in the years to come.
