Spoof comedies and films that are full of comic elements used to be the forte of Allari Naresh earlier. But with those movies giving him the taste of only flop all the time, he has quit them for a while.
Though he has done only three conceptual films, they have given him much-needed respite. However, he’s back to the original genre with ‘Aa Okkati Adakku’.
No doubt, if Aa Okkati Adakku had clicked at the box office, the hero would have taken every alternate film in this genre only. Right from the go, however, this film sounded like a blunder with nothing to boast about. Though some dialogues here and some scenes there worked, as a film it failed to click.
And the audiences are not rushing to theatres to catch it as well. Probably that would now make Allari Naresh re-think about doing comedy movies. As serious cinema and out-of-the-box ideas worked for him big time, surely he might be channelling his ideas in that direction only.
On the other hand, Naresh’s vintage avatar in January 2024 released Naa Saami Ranga has worked big time. So it looks like Naresh should pick directors who would be able to handle the comedy well, then it works for him— else he will be stepping in the soup all over.
