Move over Bollywood! The 2024 Cannes Film Festival wasn’t just about established Hindi stars. This year, a rising talent in Indian cinema, the Tenali girl Sobhita Dhulipala, stole the show, becoming the first Telugu actress ever to grace the Cannes red carpet.
In a word, Sobhita’s presence was electrifying. Dressed in a stunning purple gown one day and a glamorous gold ensemble the next, she exuded elegance and captivated audiences. Her appearance wasn’t just a fashion moment; it was a breakthrough for Telugu cinema.
Telugu fans saw this as a validation of their very own film industry because all these days we are proud of Aishwarya Rai, Kiara Advani or Urvashi Rautela, though all are Indians none are Telugu folks. No doubt, Sobhita’s glamorous presence at Cannes has given real high to Telugu folks.
But Sobhita’s journey extends far beyond the glitz of Cannes. She recently showcased her talent in the English film “Monkey Man” as Sita, and now she’s gearing up for her upcoming Hindi project, “Sitara.” Also she will be seen in couple of Telugu films too very soon.
