Many Telugu movies are coming out on May 31st including Vishwaksen’s Gangs of Godavari, Karthikeya’s Bhaje Vaayu Vegam, Sudheer Babu’s Harom Hara, Kajal Aggarwal’s Satyabhama and Anand Devarakonda’s Gam Gam Ganesha. While Tollywood’s producers are bracing up for this clash, it is coming out that theatre owners are not so happy about it.
Firstly, theatre owners are worried that this might not be a good time for them. This is because exit polls for the Andhra Pradesh state elections will be released on June 1st, and the results will come out on June 4th. People might be too busy following the election updates and talking about the results rather than going to the movies.
On the other hand, when many movies are released on the same day, it will make it hard for every movie to be successful. It will lead to lower ticket sales and financial struggles for theatre owners, say a few. To make things worse, people have been staying away from movies lately, which has made it even harder for theatres to make money which is why some single screens in Telangana have shut down for a week already.
On that note, it’s difficult to say how many of these movies will be successful, but theatre owners are hoping that they will bring in more customers.
