16 Songs In This Telugu Film!

Nowadays, it has become quite hard for a film’s original soundtrack to have five or six songs. One of the reasons behind this is the risk involved in shooting them.

There is also a shortage of music composers who can deliver an album with 100% hit songs. That is why, regardless of how grand a film is, they limit themselves to four or five songs in an album.

This cannot be any more different from how we made movies and consumed music in the past. For example, K. Raghavendra Rao’s visual masterpieces like Annamayya and Pelli Sandadi had more than a dozen songs in a single film’s album. The iconic Bollywood classic Hum Aapke Hain Kaun had as many as 14 songs, and all were chartbusters.

Coming to the present, director Sriram Adittya has revealed on Saturday that his upcoming film Manamey starring Sharwanand and Krithi Shetty will have as many as 16 songs, shocking everyone.

A family entertainer having such a large album in this day and age is indeed surprising. The music of the film is composed by Hesham Abdul Wahab, who has proven his mettle as a composer to look out for, with his music in Kushi and Hi Nanna.

The film’s team has also declared that Manamey might be Hesham Abdul Wahab’s career-best work. If that is is true, then music lovers are in for a treat. Even if all the songs are not of the same length, the tunes are guaranteed to be unique.

The success of Manamey’s music can also change things for music consumption by proving that audiences will appreciate movies with more songs. More and more filmmakers, who have been reluctant to make music a big part of their film, will be forced to reconsider their stance provided Manamey provides a positive precedent.

Returning to the big screen two years after his heartwarming sci-fi relationship drama Oke Oka Jeevitham, Sharwanand looks very confident this time around. He stated that the team have given their best despite hurdles and assured his fans that Manamey will be a blockbuster.

For the film’s female lead Krithi Shetty, the success of Manamey will be crucial for her prospects in the Telugu film industry. With only six days left for the release, the makers plan to promote the film in the coming few days with more intensity.
