Indian 2 – The Mother of all Disasters!

Indian 2 was one of the most awaited pan-India films in the recent times. While the teaser, trailer and songs did not inspire any hype from the general public, people were willing to give the film a shot, thanks to the goodwill they have towards Kamal Haasan and Shankar.

But the audience who flocked to the theatres to watch Indian 2 were rudely shocked with the film’s poor storytelling. The film opened to unanimous negative reception.

This has definitely put a dent on the film’s collection. The film could not sustain itself in the box office, inevitably going from packed to empty halls as the weekend rolled on to a new week.

The B.O. collections of the film took a severe beating as well. The overall worldwide gross collections of the film on Monday cannot even amount to ₹10 cr. The Tamil Nadu market alone could not generate more than ₹2 cr on Monday. The joint box office gross of both Telugu states on a Monday barely adds up to a ₹1 cr.

While the Telugu audience forgot Indian 2 after the first weekend, the collections in North India are as low as the maintenance charges.

The situation is dire, to say the least. Long story short, the audience and the box office numbers have declared Indian 2 as an all-time box office disaster.
