Filmfare will once again honour the best artists, mastermind filmmakers and storytellers from the South film industry across the four languages – Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam and Kannada. The nominations for the 69th Filmfare south Awards have been unveiled, bringing a delightful surprise for cinephiles.
This year’s lineup includes nominations for several prominent films, with last year’s cult blockbuster “Baby” emerging as a standout with multiple nods across major categories. Both “Baby” and “Hi Nanna” have amassed an impressive tally of 8 nominations each at the Filmfare Awards.
The 100 crore blockbuster is in the running for the coveted title of Best Film of the Year. Director Sai Rajesh, renowned for his impactful storytelling, has earned a nomination in the esteemed Best Director category for his work on “Baby.” The film’s exceptional musical score, composed by Vijay Bulganin, played a crucial role in its success and has rightfully earned recognition from Filmfare.
Anand Deverakonda has been acknowledged for his outstanding performance in the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) category, underscoring his impact in “Baby.” Similarly, Vaishnavi Chaitanya’s compelling portrayal has earned her a nomination in the Best Actor in a Leading Role (Female) category. The Lyricist Anantha Sriram and music director Vijay Bulganin also moninated.
