Nandamuri Balakrishna has set a new precedent by announcing the release of his stalled film online. Balayya has come forward to release the 17 minutes footage from the mythological film Narthanasala, which was acted and directed by him. This has brought cheers to Nandamuri fans who have been waiting for scenes of this film from longtime.
Now, this whole issue has raised an interesting question. Why can’t other stars too follow this? There are several films in Tollywood that undergo several cuts in the edit suits. Big starrer films and several blockbuster films too are no exception to this. Films like Ranagasthalam, Maharshi, Sarileeu Neekevvaru, Jai Lava Kusa, Baahubali 2, Saaho, Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, Arjun Reddy and several others were scissored in the edit rooms. Due to time constraints, the makers scissor the length of these films. All these films will have a lot of unused footage. Many fans are now asking online why their stars are not releasing the unused, never-seen footage from their films.
While some actors are really not comfortable showing the footage that was kept out of the audience, some directors are also not interested. But many say that the makers could actually release the unused footage instead of limiting to bloopers. The moot question is that whether other star heroes and star directors too follow Balayya? Let’s wait and see.
