The news of popular Bollywood music company and film production house T-Series setting up their shop in Hyderabad has garnered widespread attention.
While it’s not known when T-Series would open their office, surely they are backing many Telugu producers right now. And this looks like a good rescue plan for our big production houses.
Using the business policy of funding investment for nominal interest and then taking back all the digital and non-theatrical rights of the movie, earlier T-Series backed UV Creations, for films like Saaho, Radhe Shyam and Aadipurush.
After it looks like they have given the same deal for Mythri Movie Makers too. Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2, Prabhas’ Fauji and NTR-Neel film is likely to be financed by T-Series as per reports. Reports are popping up that People Media Factory is also trying to get the same deal and talks are going on as we speak.
Though many Mumbai companies like Eros, Reliance and others have earlier entered Tollywood but failed to click, it looks like T-Series has come up with a fail-proof model.
As they will be betting on the digital rights of the film, there will be no risk at any instance. At the same time, if there is any shortage in retrieving their investment, they will be taking that extra money from the Telugu producers only.
But our producers who will recover their balance investment through theatrical rights will be at risk, in case if the films fail to click.
