Amaran, A Challenge For SK & Sai Pallavi!

Sivakarthikeyan and Sai Pallavi are basically from other languages and established bases in Telugu. Sai Pallavi is a step ahead of Sivakarthikeyan, and people consider her as a Telugu heroine since she attained stardom in Tollywood. Now, the upcoming film Amaran throws a challenge to both to prove their stardom and market value in Telugu for this Diwali.

Amaran didn’t initially have high expectations among the upcoming releases this week, especially for its Telugu version. However, bookings are surprisingly strong, creating a buzz in the trade circles. This response was unexpected, given that it’s a serious biopic.

The major advantage of the film is the presence of Sai Pallavi as the heroine, and the efforts that Siva Karthikeyan put into this film are extraordinary. Both are enough to bring solid openings for the film, but the film is competing with other Telugu releases, Lucky Bhaskar and Ka.

Billed to be the biography film based on the life of Major Mukund Varadarajan, Amaran is posing a challenge to Sivakarthikeyan to prove his worth. Sivakarthikeyan scored a couple of hits earlier in Telugu, but his recent releases have not resulted in significant success. Moreover, his Telugu film with KV Anudeep, titled Prince,, disappointed audiences. However, Siva worked hard for this film and even took great care of the film’s dubbing.

On the other hand, Sai Pallavi reportedly got a significant role in the film, and her character is adding the emotional depth of the film. Sai Pallavi is easily one of the best performers we have today, and she would pull off the role easily. Especially, when she is facing criticism for some old comments she made in the past, the success of this film is crucial for her. Moreover, it’s been two years since we saw her in a Telugu film, and it is indeed a testing time for her.

Insiders say director Rajkumar Periyaswamy has crafted action sequences with intense emotions, which has garnered positive initial feedback. Releasing over the Diwali long weekend, Amaran’s success could strengthen Siva Karthikeyan’s position in the Telugu market if it succeeds. Sai Pallavi could also give an edge to the film, and the popularity of both films is questioned.

Kamal Haasan produced the film in Telugu and Nithiin’s Shresth Movies bagged the Telugu rights for the film.
