Some movies could keep the audience entertained every minute in the theater watch, and then others could bore the audience until they walked out midway. PVR Inox is bringing on a new billing model that only charges the audience for what they are watching.
The fresh billing script of PVR Inox is ‘Pay for What You Watch Model’ in theatres called FLEXI show. The new method will allow the audience to pay only for the time they watch it.
The project is in the pilot stage and is available in select cinemas across Delhi and Gurugram for certain shows. The audience will have to pay an additional 10 percent premium on the ticket charge and they can walk out anytime and they will be charged pro-rated for the time they watched.
The ticket will be linked to the audience’s seats and the AI-powered video analytics technology monitors when you arrive and leave. The system will also calculate how much of the movie you watched and determine your refund based on predefined brackets.
It has to be seen how well this model works and how it affects the overall collections of the movies from now on.
