Hollywood stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt have reached a divorce settlement. After fighting a legal battle for over eight years, the couple ended it, which Jolie’s lawyer has officially confirmed. The couple got married in 2014 and have six children.
Angelina Jolie filed for divorce in 2016, citing “irreconcilable differences.” Later, she accused Pitt of being abusive to her and two of their children on a private jet that year. Post that, the couple had been embroiled in a child custody battle in the months following their divorce announcement.
But in 2022, Pitt accused Jolie of selling her stake in the property to Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler without his knowledge.
The couple met on the set of the 2005 film Mr and Mrs Smith. Their relationship later blossomed into an official wedlock. The marriage was Pitt’s second after a relationship with Friends star Jennifer Aniston. On the other hand, this was Jolie’s third, after actors Billy Bob Thornton and Jonny Lee Miller.
Angelina’s lawyer says, “To be honest, Angelina is tired. Eight years ago, she filed for divorce from Mr Pitt. During this time, she and her children completely abandoned the shared property. Since the,n she has been focusing on peace and healing for her family. Jolie is trying her best to come to light after the dark time. She neither publicly nor privately says anything bad against Pitt.”
Across the nation, the media branded the couple as Brangelina, and the news of their split has disappointed many.
